If You Don’t Believe Now, Better Check Your Pulse

Words would just ruin the moment. Here is a photo essay of complied photos from the great AP photographers Mike Carlson / Chris O’Meara and Getty Images Photog  J. Meric  on the field and deep within the bowels of Tropicana Field  tonight.

Last, but not least, the Home Run trot that began the celebration!

I know people say this all the time, but these guys truly deserve this. From a 1-8 mark in early April to pushing down a Boston team to the last extra inning basically that was heralded in the Spring as the “team to beat”.
I am whipped emotionally and mentally myself, so glad we have at least a chance to catch our breathe today before hitting the Texas afternoon heat.
The region needed this kind of positive vibe, the ownership got their “winner”, and the team showed everyone that money doesn’t always get you a playoff slot….Onto Arlington!

THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BEST! Dude, I was outta my seat screaming and stomping! How can anyone not love this Rays team?!?! ZOBRIST IS THE CLEANUP MAN!!!!! GOTTA BELIEVE!!! Our teams sure put on a show in September. *FIST BUMP*

There are people already throwing out excuses as to why the Red Sox and Braves are packing for home, and our teams are headed for meaningful games in October.
Some of it is bruised egos, some of it is deflections from the facts their guys blew chunks at the wrong time.
I find it extremely fitting Carl Crawford dives for the ball and misses that sent the Rays basically into the post season……Maybe Longo or BJ will leave him a tickets for the games

The best part about this post season run is that it shocks the “status quo” of our division. The Red Sox were suppose to win 100+ games, and the Yankees lost 2 of 3 going into post season. Some say the Yankees gave up the game after Baltimore won, but that was within a matter of minutes that Longo put that liner out and we saw the score on the jumbotron…..Now it is time to do a Rays 2-step victory slide for the next 2 days in Arlington

Pssst Brandon,
Winning in 5 brings the fun home to Tropicana Field. I truly hope it is less than 5 games, but I would rather be wrong and celebrating than packing the gear up for the Winter. One of those double-edged swords, just like the one Terry Francona thrusted himself on today in Boston. Maddon doesn’t have that worry Rays all move in great synch behind Maddon’s mantras and muses unlike the Boston brigade.
